You can learn to make aromatherapy bath salts and present them as gifts this holiday season. They take little effort and cost very little to make. What’s more, a lot of people sincerely appreciate receiving handmade gifts. I have included a short how-to video to go along with the instructions.
Lavender Bath Salts
2 Cups/16 oz. Epsom, Dead Sea Salt, and/or regular sea salt
20 drops Lavender Essential Oil
Powder or Food Colorant
Lidded Jars/Containers
Pour the salt into a non-plastic mixing bowl. Add the drops of Lavender and stir thoroughly. Add in your desired amount of colorant—use a small amount for a pastel look and a larger amount for a more bold look. Stir thoroughly until color looks evenly dispersed. Transfer into your container(s). As an extra touch, you can tie a ribbon around the container.
Bath salts have wonderful health benefits. They help you to relax, improve sleep, reduce muscular inflammation and cramps, detoxify, and improve circulation. Dead Sea salt provides the most therapeutic benefit. You can order it from most bath & body online suppliers as well as Amazon.
Feel free to substitute the Lavender essential oil with other essential oils. Ylang Ylang, Palmarosa, Geranium, Rose, and Jasmine all provide relaxing, floral aromas. The citrus essential oils work great as well, but they can increase photosensitivity. Eucalyptus, Clary Sage, and Neroli also make good additions to bath salts.
